BlackOps questions and answers

The things readers ask most often, answered without padding.

Links and access

What is the BlackOps link?

There is no single permanent address and nothing on the ordinary web. BlackOps publishes several onion addresses that all reach the same market. Copy one from the addresses block on this page and confirm it on the login screen before typing anything.

Which coin does BlackOps accept?

Monero only. There is no Bitcoin option and no background swap. You fund in Monero and you spend Monero, which is the market defining decision rather than a limitation.

Why does BlackOps refuse Bitcoin?

Because a public chain records every payment permanently and readable by anyone, years after the fact. Monero conceals sender, receiver and amount by default. Removing the public option takes away a way to be traced rather than a feature you needed.

How do I know I am on the real market?

Compare the onion printed on the login screen against your browser address bar. BlackOps shows it in the anti-phishing image and in the header. A clone can copy the design perfectly and cannot do that. If they differ, close the tab.

One of the addresses will not load. Is the market gone?

Almost certainly not. It is usually a tired Tor circuit or a short flood on that address. Request a new circuit and retry, or open a different verified address from this page.

Money, escrow and safety

What is 2 of 3 multisig escrow?

Your payment sits in an address needing two of three keys to move, held separately by you, the vendor and the market. Nobody can take it alone, which is what makes buying from a stranger workable.

Should I ever release payment early?

No, not on a seller you have not tested. Finalising early hands over the coin and removes the dispute route at the same moment. Confirm receipt when the package is with you and correct.

How much should I keep on the market?

What the current order needs. Anything else belongs in your own wallet. Funds parked on any market are exposed to whatever happens to that market.

Does this site sell anything or track me?

No. It publishes briefings and verified addresses. There is no account, no payment, no advertising and nothing collected about visitors, and it is not the market itself.

Will a login ever ask for my recovery phrase?

Never. A page asking for it is collecting accounts. Store the phrase on paper, never type it into a web form, and treat any request for it as proof the page is fake.
